On Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:36 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian near the 400 block of South US HWY 183 SB. The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 39 fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 43 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 33 fatal crashes resulted in 34 deaths.
