Suspect:  Agustin Guillen, Hispanic male, 38 years of age

APD Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives announce the arrest of a suspect, Agustin Guillen, in connection to a fatal crash that occurred on May 6, 2025.

Guillen was arrested on June 11, 2025. He is charged with Collision Involving Death, Felony 2.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 11:38 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 2900 block of North Mopac Expressway NB for a collision between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle. When officers arrived on the scene, the driver of the vehicle had left the scene. The motorcycle rider, later identified as Shawn Oveisi, was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday, May 19, 2025.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 34th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 38 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 24 fatal crashes resulted in 24 deaths.
