UPDATE: APD Seeks Community Assistance with Homicide Investigation at 9616 North Lamar Boulevard

UPDATE:

APD Homicide Detectives conducted an extensive video canvas and the vehicle that the suspect left the scene in has been identified as a black 2021 Dodge Charger Scat Pack. Further investigation has found the vehicle was stolen in Williamson County on January 5, 2026.

This particular Dodge Charger has a durable automotive gray vinyl on the hood.

Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location: 9616 North Lamar Boulevard

Victim (Deceased): Cam Ron Perkins, Black male, 1/1/2003

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a report of multiple gunshots at 9616 North Lamar Boulevard. When officer arrived, they located the victim, later identified as Cam Ron Perkins with fatal injuries. Mr. Perkins was pronounced deceased on scene at 8:15 p.m.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The preliminary investigation showed Mr. Perkins had been shot and the suspect left the scene in either a black Dodge Charger or a black Dodge Challenger.
