Suspect (arrested): Martha Maria Flores, Hispanic Female, 34 years of age

UPDATE: On Monday, June 15, 2026, APD Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives identified the suspect in connection to the 600 block N. IH 35 SVRD SB traffic fatality as Martha Maria Flores. Flores was arrested and booked into the Travis County Jail. The deceased has been identified as Jonathan Hernandez.

UPDATE: Detectives are requesting the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect vehicle in connection to a traffic fatality that occurred on Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., in the 600 block N. IH 35 SVRD SB.

The suspect vehicle is described as:

• Hyundai Sonata
• Gray or silver in color
• 2011-2015
• Damage on its front right
• Missing right lower fog light/headlight lamp

Suspect vehicle: 2011-2015 Gray/Silver Hyundai Sonata
 
On Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Austin Police (APD) patrol officers responded to a collision that involved a pedestrian and an unidentified suspect vehicle in the 600 block of N. IH 35 service road southbound. The suspect vehicle left the scene after the collision. Life saving measures were attempted by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS). The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2011-2015 gray or silver Hyundai Sonata with front end damage and a missing right headlight.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 37th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 37 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 43 fatal crashes resulted in 47 deaths.

These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.
