UPDATE: Search Continues for a Suspect in Additional Elderly Fraud Case

Austin Police Criminal Investigations Division Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying suspect of multiple Elderly Fraud cases.
 
Newly submitted evidence reveals that the suspect included in the original release is also connected to another incident that occurred on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the Randalls, located at 5311 Balcones Drive. In this case, the victim was shopping when the suspect stole a wallet out of the victim’s purse. The suspect and a person of interest then went to a Chase Bank, a Wells Fargo, and a Best Buy, and defrauded the victim out of over $50,000.
 
The suspect is described as:


  • White female
  • Early 60s to early 70s
  • 160 lbs.
  • Medium-length grey hair
  • Wears glasses

The person of interest is described as:

  • White male
  • 30s or 40s
  • Heavy build

The suspect vehicle is described as:

  • Mazda
  • SUV
  • White in color

Detectives would like to remind the community to always be alert and aware of your surroundings and offer the following tips to avoid becoming a victim.

  • Always keep your purse strapped on you and in your front area, not on your side, and never to your back.
  • Always keep its zippers closed shut.
  • Avoid placing it on your shopping cart. If necessary, secure it by strapping it to the shopping cart.
  • Never lose sight of your purse or leave it unattended.

Locations: 2425 Exposition Blvd (Austin) and 5656 Bee Caves Rd. (West Lake Hills)

Austin Police (APD) Detectives are asking for the community's help in identifying a female suspect involved in a series of fraudulent bank transactions. The female suspect visited multiple banks, impersonating the victim by using stolen credit cards, bank account information, and a fictitious ID that displayed the victim's details alongside the suspect's photograph.

The suspect successfully withdrew more than $20,000 from several banks, including two locations of Frost Bank. It is believed that the victim's wallet was stolen from her purse while she was shopping.

The suspect is described as:

  • White female
  • Early 60’s to early 70’s
  • 160 lbs.
  • Medium-length grey hair
  • Wears glasses
