Become an Austin Tree Ambassador.
Tree Ambassadors serve as a vital voice for neighborhood green spaces. Over seven months, Tree Ambassadors work with the Urban Forest Program to:
- Promote tree planting and care in your community.
- Educate others about the benefits of a healthy urban forest.
- Lead or support local events, workshops, and tree walks.
- Connect with community leaders to inspire change.

Expectations
Tree Ambassadors are expected to:
- Work 10 hours a month
- Commit to seven months of service
- Attend nine required trainings
Ambassadors earn $25 per hour and must be able to verify work authorization in the U.S.
Tree Ambassadors must agree to attend all nine of the following mandatory in-person sessions.
All events take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Locations will be shared with accepted participants ahead of each session.

Timeline
Applications for the 2026-27 Tree Ambassador cohort are open through October 16, 2026. Selected participants will be notified by November 1, 2026.
