AACHF Annual Juneteenth 2026 FunRun
We are proud to extend an invitation for you to participate in the City of Austin’s Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment (ACME) Department's Annual Juneteenth Fun Run, scheduled for June 19, 2026. This event offers participants the opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth and the African American Historical Heritage District, as well as promote health and wellness.
The run celebrates community, culture, and wellness, and we would be thrilled to have your participation. As always, community involvement and support are critical and integral to the success of the Fun Run. Local organizations, businesses, and residents within the African American cultural district will come together to organize and participate in the event.
This collaboration fosters a sense of unity and pride within the community and strengthens bonds among participants. Participants will gather on Leona Street south of East Martin Luther King Blvd in the heart of Austin’s African American Cultural Heritage District. Beginning at 7:45 am, this section will be transformed into a vibrant space for warm-ups, stretching, fellowship, and community bonding.
The FunRun is designed for all ages to attend and features three waves of participants: Advanced (Professionals & Run Clubs) Intermediate (Seasoned Runners & Athletes) Families and Community Members. The FunRun will begin at 8:30 am sharp and all participants will have one hour allocated for completion. The Juneteenth parade will follow at 10:00 am.
