ATXFloods website is experiencing issues due to high traffic volume.
Users may experience delays with the ATXFloods website due to high traffic volume. To supplement the site, road closure information will also be provided through ATXFloods on Twitter.
Six low water crossings were closed overnight, but they have been reopened. All low water crossings in Austin are currently open. Watershed Protection staff will continue to monitor the situation. Road closure operations are not affected and will continue as needed. However, please be aware that if low water crossings are closed over the weekend, there may be a delay in updating the website. If there are thunderstorms or heavy rain, we encourage people to check ATXFloods on Twitter.
We are working on changes to the backend of the site that will allow it to handle higher traffic volumes. These changes are scheduled to be implemented next week.
We encourage people to stay off the road during severe weather. If you must drive, slow down on wet roads and be on the lookout for flooded roads. Be especially cautious at night when it is particularly hard to see water over the road. Never drive through a flooded road or go around a barricade. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
