About the Commission

Established in May 2026, the Native American and Indigenous Quality of Life Commission serves as an advisory body to the city council on issues of concern to the Native American and Indigenous community in Austin, including preserving culture, economic development, education, health, and wellness. The commission shall also advise on the operations and economic development of the Native American Cultural Center.
