The 2012 Charter Revision Committee recommended charter revisions to the Austin City Council in March 2012.

Advise Council on revisions which may be necessary or desirable to align the City Charter with changes to municipal ordinances, and to make recommendations to the Council to improve, enhance transparency and the general functions of city government.

The Commission advises the city council on issues relating to the quality of life for the City's African American community and recommends programs designed to alleviate any inequities that may confront African Americans.

Review and make recommendations to the city council on aviation projects that the Department of Aviation proposes for the capital improvements program, proposed aviation grants, aviation contracts, annual operating budget, quality of services at AUS.

Assist in public outreach and provide feedback on the development and implementation of a form-based code along Airport Boulevard between IH-35 and North Lamar Boulevard. See Resolution No. 20100429-049 for additional information.

Among other tasks, the Animal Advisory Commission promotes collaboration between the City and interested parties relating to animal welfare in the city.

Review and recommend specific strategies related to affordable housing; community development; \small businesses and cultural assets; income and asset creation by providing needed services; and financing strategies to fund these efforts.

The Applicant Review Panel is a three-member body established by Article II, Section 3 of the City Charter to review and assess applications to the City of Austin's Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission.
