Peek Inside Bond-Funded Projects with the Austin Bond Dashboard

The Austin Bond Dashboard brings project details, funding, spending and progress together in one place.

Developed by Austin Capital Delivery Services, the dashboard offers a community-friendly look at projects funded through Austin’s 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022 General Obligation (GO) Bond programs. GO bonds allow the City to borrow money for major community improvements approved by voters.

Find projects and follow spending

Start by exploring a bond program by year, browsing projects by proposition or searching for a specific project. Each proposition represents a separate bond measure approved by voters.

The dashboard includes:

  • Bond program information: Read program summaries and proposition descriptions, see amounts authorized by voters and find project counts.
  • Funding and spending: View charts showing spending progress or obligated funding for projects within each proposition.
  • Project progress: See which projects are anticipated, in design, in construction, completed or cancelled.
  • Individual project details: Find descriptions of planned improvements, project status, funding information and project contacts.

Understand a project’s status

The dashboard uses five categories to describe a project’s current stage:

  • Anticipated: The project is in early planning and has not entered design or construction.
  • In Design: The project is being designed or prepared for construction. This stage includes seeking bids and awarding contracts.
  • In Construction: Construction is underway.
  • Completed: The City has accepted the completed improvements, and they are open to the public.
  • Cancelled: The project will not move forward as originally planned. Its funds have been or are being reassigned.

A project’s status may change as work progresses. Its stage does not necessarily show how much of its budget has been spent or committed.

Projects may be cancelled because of changes in priorities, funding, planned improvements or site conditions. They may also be cancelled if the work cannot be carried out as planned. A cancellation does not necessarily mean the community’s need has been resolved.

More improvements ahead

Capital Delivery Services will continue to improve the dashboard. Planned mapping improvements will connect individual projects to their locations, making it easier to see where bond-funded investments are taking place.
