The Onion Creek Metropolitan Park is a 555-acre regional park located in southeast Travis County, just south of Onion Creek. The land – flat, woody and pond-filled – is undeveloped and used by area residents. The Onion Creek Greenbelt is north of the creek. Onion Creek travels approximately 79 miles.

The park went through the master planning process which was completed in July 2015. Phase 1 is substantially complete, and the park is now open to enjoy.

Phase 1 Master Plan Implementation

The phase 1 development of Onion Creek Metropolitan Park is now substantially complete and is now open. Itconsists of approximately 30 acres of irrigated area including open play fields, a 50-space parking lot, trails, and a perimeter sidewalk. An additional 20 acres has been improved for accessibility and ecological restoration through selective clearing. Due to unanticipated issues with the contractor, the project was delayed.
