The Transportation Systems Development team is responsible for long-term transportation planning for the City of Austin, coordinating long-term planning efforts with other jurisdictions and agencies, and managing transportation demand management programs.


The division maintains the City’s adopted transportation plan, the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan (ASMP), and the transportation demand management (TDM) programs Commute Connections, GetThereATX, and Smart Trips Austin.

The Transportation Systems Development Division also addresses the future needs of major streets through the Corridor Mobility Development Program. The division also manages the department’s Transportation Demand Management program as well as develops and maintains the City’s comprehensive database of transportation network data.
