Help transform the sidewalk at the Dougherty Arts Center using a kintsugi inspired technique!
Inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese tradition of repairing broken ceramics with gold and lacquer, visitors are invited to help fill cracks with gold epoxy on the DAC front porch, creating a collaborative artwork that celebrates repair, renewal, and the beauty of imperfection.
During the event, artist Chance Ramirez will demonstrate a modern approach to kintsugi through a clay repair technique using epoxy and mica powder, all while sharing more about the traditional process and artists working with the practice today.
This event is free and open to the public, registration is encouraged but not required.
