Public Safety Agreement Compliance
Austin Labor Relations negotiates labor agreements and ensures that all City of Austin public safety departments comply with their respective labor agreements.
Core Responsibilities of Austin Labor Relations:
- Negotiate and Implement Labor Agreements
- Ongoing review of labor agreement components
- Launch new procedures or policies when agreements require them
- Audit Compliance
- Monitor departments to ensure they follow all labor agreement provisions
- Support Departments
- Help departments understand and apply labor agreement requirements
- Issue Resolution
- Work with departments and labor organizations to resolve disputes or concerns
- Advise City Management
- Alert leadership to critical issues, risks or developments related to labor agreements

- Amended Agreement between the City of Austin and Austin EMS Association, Effective July 18, 2024
