The City of Austin’s Economic Development Department, in partnership with the Austin Youth Council, has officially postponed the 12th Annual Youth Career Fest. Originally scheduled for January 22, the event will now take place on Tuesday, February 11, at the Palmer Events Center during the same time, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The decision to reschedule the event is based on the forecasted cold winter weather conditions. Ensuring the safety of all participants, including students, educators, exhibitors, and volunteers, remains the City’s top priority.

“We are committed to hosting a successful and safe Youth Career Fest that meets the needs of our community,” said Anthony Segura, Interim Director of the Economic Development Department. “While this was not an easy decision, the well-being of everyone involved is paramount. We look forward to welcoming students and stakeholders on February 11 for an inspiring and engaging event.”

The 12th Annual Youth Career Fest will continue to feature the same lineup of exhibitors, including St. David’s HealthCare, Texas Workforce Solutions, Samsung, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and various State of Texas and City departments. Universities from across the nation, such as The University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, the University of Alabama, and Texas A&M University, will also be present. Over 50 schools from Austin ISD and surrounding districts, such as Leander ISD, Round Rock ISD, and Hays CISD, are registered, with 3,500+ students (grades 8-12) expected to attend.

Rescheduled Event Details:

  • Date: Tuesday, February 11
  • Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Location: Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road
