APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to an Assault with Injury

Location: 300 block of Lavaca Street (CapMetro Bus)
The Austin Police Department (APD) is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect who assaulted a CapMetro passenger while she was scanning her bus pass. A Good Samaritan was able to stop the assault and removed the suspect from the bus.
The suspect appeared to be under the influence of narcotics prior to the attack
The suspect is described as:
- Hispanic or Middle Eastern
- Male
- Tattoos on right arm and abdomen
Anyone with any information may submit a tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
