The City of Austin Economic Development Department is thrilled to host the 2025 Small Business Fundamentals Week taking place from January 27-30. This week-long initiative offers business owners an invaluable opportunity to participate in no-cost classes, providing specialized training in essential areas such as marketing, bookkeeping, and other foundational topics. Elevate your skills and kickstart the new year with our comprehensive fundamentals week classes.

"Small businesses are the heart of Austin's economy and culture. Small Business Fundamentals Week underscores our commitment to helping aspiring and tenured entrepreneurs build a strong foundation for sustainable success,” says Anthony Segura, Interim Director of the Economic Development Department. “These no-cost classes are more than training—they’re a launchpad for ideas, innovation, and growth.”

The 2025 Small Business Fundamentals Week classes will be conducted in person at our facility's training room located at 5202 East Ben White Boulevard, Suite 300. Upon registration, individuals will be added to a waiting list if classes reach full capacity.

  • January 28 –  Explore Funding Options for Your Small Business
  • January 29 – Basic Bookkeeping for Small Business
  • January 29 – Getting Started with AI for Small Business (Virtual Night Class)
  • January 30 –  Effective Marketing Content
  • January 30 –  Create Your Marketing Plan & Calendar

The Economic Development Department’s Small Business Division is committed to offering a diverse portfolio of business training, educational events, and coaching to empower entrepreneurs. Our mission is to foster job creation and support the growth of new and existing businesses by providing capacity-building information, tools, and resources.

La ciudad presenta la semana de los fundamentos para las pequeñas empresas para ayudar a los emprendedores 

Entrenamiento especializado gratuito en mercadeo, contabilidad y más. 

El Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la Ciudad de Austin está emocionado de presentar la Semana de Fundamentos para las Pequeñas Empresas 2025 que se llevará a cabo del 27 al 30 de enero. Esta iniciativa ofrece a los dueños de empresas una valiosa oportunidad de participar en clases gratuitas, ofreciendo capacitación especializada en áreas esenciales como mercadeo, contabilidad y otros temas fundamentales. Mejore sus habilidades y comience el nuevo año con nuestras clases de la semana de los fundamentos.

“Las pequeñas empresas son el corazón de la economía y la cultura de Austin. La semana de los fundamentos para las pequeñas empresas destaca nuestro compromiso de ayudar a empresarios aspirantes y establecidos a construir una fundación para un éxito sostenible,” dice Anthony Segura, Director Interino del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico. “Estas clases gratuitas son algo más que un entrenamiento: constituyen una base para las ideas, la innovación y el crecimiento.”

Las clases de la Semana de los Fundamentos para las Pequeñas Empresas 2025 se realizarán en persona en la aula de entrenamiento de nuestras oficinas ubicadas en 5202 East Ben White Boulevard, Suite 300. Una vez inscritos, los participantes serán añadidos a una lista de espera si las clases se llenan.

Horario de clases

  • 27 de enero – Crear su propia empresa pequeña 
  • 28 de enero –  Explore las opciones de financiación para su pequeña empresa
  • 29 de enero – Contabilidad básica para pequeñas empresas
  • 29 de enero – Introducción a la Inteligencia Artificial para Pequeñas Empresas (Clase virtual nocturna)
  • 30 de enero: –  Contenido de mercadeo eficaz
  • 30 de enero: –  Crea su plan de mercadeo y calendario de contenido

La División de Pequeñas Empresas del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico se compromete a ofrecer una serie de cursos empresariales, eventos educativos y asesoramiento para ayudar a los emprendedores. Nuestra misión es fomentar la creación de empleo y apoyar el crecimiento de empresas nuevas y existentes proporcionando información, herramientas y recursos para el desarrollo de capacidades.
