The burning restriction order for city parks and nature preserves has ended.
Austin Parks and Recreation has issued a Termination of the Parks Burning Restriction for all City of Austin parkland, effective immediately. The National Fire Danger Rating System, which is currently at “Moderate” fire danger level. Additionally, Travis County is currently not under a burn ban order, and conditions including expected rainfall reduce the fire danger conditions. Austin Parks and Recreation is committed to protecting the City’s parks and surrounding communities and evaluates wildfire risk on an ongoing basis. If conditions worsen and the threat of wildfire increases, a burning restriction will be reactivated for parks and nature preserves.
