We are a workforce of over 16,000 caring and committed public servants. Austin’s Mayor is elected from the city at large, and ten City Council members are elected from single-member districts. The City Council is responsible for the appointment of the City Manager, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the City, the City Clerk, the City Auditor, Municipal Court Judges, and the Municipal Court Clerk.
