About proclamations and other recognitions

NOTE: Requests made through this form are for recognitions by the City of Austin mayor, not the State of Texas and its governor. Go to the Office of the Texas Governor's I Need Assistance form to request proclamations from the State of Texas (select "Ceremonial Items" in the Issue field).

The City is pleased to recognize the people, programs, and events that make Austin unique by issuing proclamations and other recognitions.

Types of recognitions

You can request the following types of recognition certificates:

  • Proclamations - Recognizing a conference or special event (i.e., Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Child Safety Month, Spay-Neuter Awareness Week)
  • Distinguished Service Awards - Recognizing retirements and acts of heroism
  • Certificates of Appreciation - Acknowledging donations or service
  • Certificates of Congratulations - Marking milestone birthdays and anniversaries
  • Certificates of Completion - Acknowledging completion of an academic or training program, internship, etc.
  • Certificates of Recognition - Acknowledging participation in an organization or project
  • Honorary Resident Certificates - For out-of-town visitors

Recognition delivery

Recognitions are delivered by mail or you may pick them up in person at the Office of the City Clerk, 301 W. Second St., Suite 2030, Austin, TX 78701. PLEASE CHECK IN AT THE SECURITY DESK ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF CITY HALL.

A small number of City of Austin recognitions may be selected by Council members to be presented in a Council meeting. If you have coordinated with a Council office to have the recognition presented before a Council meeting, there is no need to complete the form below; the Council office will work directly with us.
