On May 17, 2025, at approximately 9:19 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers responded to a crash involving two vehicles in the 7400 block of FM 969 Rd. The passenger of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased on scene. Both drivers and the occupant of the other vehicle were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 31st fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 35 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 27 fatal crashes resulted in 27 deaths.
