On Friday, April 25, 2025, at approximately 6:01 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 9600 block of Research Boulevard SB.  The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 26th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 30 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 24 fatal crashes resulted in 24 deaths.
