On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 12:58 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in the intersection of N US HWY 183 SVRD SB and McNeil Drive. The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Eric Tobias Billingsley, was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased. The motorcyclist remained at the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 70th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 74 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 59 fatal crashes resulted in 64 deaths.
