In The Parks With Aleu Aleu

As a boy, Aleu Aleu moved to Austin with his family, Sudanese refugees who had fled to Kenya where he was born and lived until the age of 12. 

He recently graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he played basketball. He is now pursuing a master's degree and playing basketball as a honor roll student at St. Edwards University. 

In the summer of 2023, he worked with kids at the Oswaldo A.B. Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center's summer camp. Learn about job opportunities at Austin Parks and Recreation.
