The Austin City Hall parking garage is a public parking garage used by City Hall and downtown visitors, residents and employees. Beginning in July 2015, the entrance and exit of the garage will be reversed and a rate increase will occur for all parties except those doing business at City Hall and City of Austin employees.
Beginning July 27, 2015, people parking at the Austin City Hall garage will enter the garage from Guadalupe Street and exit the garage on Lavaca Street; this configuration is the opposite of what currently exists. Once inside the parking structure, all people will proceed into the parking area through the current employee/contract side of the garage, and exit the parking area from the current public side. Parking for Austin City Hall employees only will be reserved on P3.
The reversal process will begin the first week of July 2015 and will include the replacement/relocation of gates, signage, markings, access technology and pay stations. Once completed on July 27, staff will be stationed at the entrance and exit of the garage helping to direct traffic.
