City of Austin Closures for Juneteenth 2026
Austin, TX - Most City of Austin administrative offices and other municipal facilities will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. This includes the Municipal and Community courts, libraries, museums, and cultural, recreation and senior centers. Normal business hours will resume Monday, June 22.
The following City services will continue to operate as normal:
City of Austin Utilities Payments – Customers can make payments online at coautilities.com or by calling 1-833-375-4949. In-person payments are accepted at most H-E-B, Fiesta Mart, Randall’s and Walmart stores.
Austin Resource Recovery Curbside Collections – Curbside collections will follow regular schedules and will not be affected by the holiday. Customers can check their collection schedule in the Austin Recycles app or at austintexas.gov/myschedule. The Recycle and Reuse Center will be closed, but Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant will be open regular hours (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.) for yard trimmings and large brush drop-off.
Parks and Recreation Department – City parks, golf courses, tennis centers, cemeteries, year-round pools and splash pads will be open. Hours vary by location so please visit the Parks and Recreation and Park Closures pages for up-to-date details. Offices, Recreation and Senior Centers will be closed.
The public can utilize the following resources, if needed, during the holiday closure.
- Report power outages at outagemap.austinenergy.com or by calling 512-322-9100.
- For non-emergency issues or to submit service requests, call 3-1-1, download the Austin 3-1-1 mobile app or submit the request online.
- Report water or wastewater emergencies by calling 512-972-1000.
- Library resources can be accessed at the Austin Public Library website.
