More Ways to Connect with DSD Starting June 1
Beginning June 1, we’re expanding our services and ways to connect with us at the Permitting and Development Center (PDC), giving you more flexible options and opportunities to meet with staff and walk away ready to start your next project.
What's New?
DSD ServiceConnect Phone Line
We are launching a new phone line and expanding online chat services. Beginning June 1, you can call 512-978-4000 and connect with DSD team members for assistance during business hours. Online chat services are also expanding to include support from our Code Compliance team.
Enhanced PDC Services
We are excited to offer more walk-in services to help your project get started right away. An online submission will still be required, so we recommend preparing the electronic versions of all applications, including signatures, notarization, and required documents, before arriving.
The following walk-in services will be available in-person at the PDC Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.:
Building & Trade Contractor Services (BTCS): Get registered as a contractor, renew your license registration, activate permits for approved plan reviews, or reactivate a permit (first time only). You may activate up to three building permits per day and reactivate one project per day.
Residential Express Permits: Qualifying minor home repair permits with no historic or floodplain review may be processed within the same day. You are limited to one permit application per day.
Commercial Re-Roofing Permits: Re-roofing permits (shingles and re-roof overlay only) for a single building may be processed within the same day. You are limited to one permit application per day.
More Walk-In Appointments
Beginning June 1, we’ve streamlined our customer service hours to give you greater access to staff Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Walk-in appointments will be available for Residential and Commercial Plan Review, Building and Trade Contractor Services (BTCS), Land Use Assistance, Land Use Review, Community Trees, and Public Projects. Simply check in with the reception desk when you arrive. You can also continue to schedule a virtual or in-person appointment on our website.
We look forward to seeing you at the Permitting and Development Center!
