Community Registry
The Community Registry (CR) is a database of self-registered neighborhood associations and other community organizations. It is an important communication tool that notifies neighborhoods and other development-interested groups of land use issues in their area. The City Council established it by resolution in 1996. The CR is maintained by the City of Austin Neighborhood Assistance Center in Austin Development Services.
Organizations registered in the Community Registry must update their record annually. If no changes have happened within your group, please submit an update with "No Changes" noted.
- Register a New Group
Before you register:
1. Decide who in your group will be the Primary Contact. The City will mail official notifications to this address via USPS.
2. Decide the boundaries of your association's area of representation. They must create an enclosed area. - Update an Existing Group
This includes changes to contact information, leadership, boundaries, meeting schedule, etc.
- Search Community Registry Database by Name or Zip Code
Search the database by name or zip code.
- Community Registry Data Online
You can use the registry data to reach all or a subset of registered organizations. Each row contains one organization’s name, primary contact information, group-provided membership counts, meeting information, declared boundaries for notifications, and the date the organization last updated the record. This dataset is updated monthly; the latest update is noted in the dataset introduction.
