Mission
Austin is committed to being the most family-friendly city in the country, with policies and decisions that support and enhance the quality of life for families and children. This commitment should then be realized through structures that ensure every major city policy is evaluated for its effect on families with children.

What We Do
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service program that focuses on projects aiming to alleviate poverty in communities across the country. The City of Austin currently has 22 AmeriCorps VISTA Members serving in departments across the city.
AustinCorps is a partnership between the City of Austin and AISD that provides civic education and leadership development programs for Austin high school students.
The Austin Youth Council’s mission is to provide Austin-area youth with a platform to amplify their voices and drive meaningful changes within their communities and local organizations.
