Join the Joint Inclusion Committee Workgroup for a Community Input Session

Share Your Input on Recommendations for the City of Austin’s 2026-2027 Budget

Residents are invited to attend a virtual community input session to share their priorities and ideas for the City of Austin’s 2026–2027 budget. Each year, the City of Austin’s Quality of Life Commissions provide funding recommendations to City Council. This year’s session will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. and is hosted by the Joint Inclusion Committee (JIC) Budget Workgroup.

Register here to attend the virtual session

Community participation in these sessions has a direct impact on what the JIC recommends to City Council. In the fiscal year 2024–2025, nearly half of the JIC member commissions’ recommendations resulted in maintaining or increasing funding for critical programs—such as College Access Programs at Austin Economic Development, Mental Health Care Support at Austin Public Health, and additional staff for Austin Parks and Recreation.

The Joint Inclusion Committee consists of the following member commissions:

  • African American Resource Advisory Commission
  • Asian American Quality of Life Advisory Commission
  • Commission on Aging *
  • Commission on Immigrant Affairs
  • Commission for Women
  • Commission for Veterans Affairs
  • Early Childhood Council
  • Hispanic/Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission*
  • Human Rights Commission
  • LGBTQ Quality of Life Advisory Commission*
  • Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities*
