Returning to its historic date, the 27th Annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025. This historical celebration is made possible by a partnership including Central Texas Juneteenth, the Greater East Austin Youth Association (GEAYA), and the City of Austin. The theme for this year and for future celebrations is “Celebrating Freedom, Culture, and Community.”

The day kicks off with the parade beginning at 10 a.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Salina Street. The parade will travel down Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Chicon Street, and will then proceed south on Chicon Street to Rosewood Avenue, ending at Rosewood Park around 12 noon. The march is approximately one mile, so participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Please reference the parade route map for additional details.

Afternoon and evening activities at the Rosewood and Boggy Creek Park areas will include food, information booths, market vendors, children’s entertainment, and live musical performances from local and national artists including acclaimed southern soul artist Young Guy. The festival concludes with fireworks at 9 p.m.

Since 2003, GEAYA and the City of Austin have proudly partnered to support this legacy event.
