APD Homicide Detectives have identified the victim in this case as Angel Santos-Martinez. Detectives believe he was in his early 20s. If anyone in the community knew Angel, we ask that you reach out to the Austin Police Department homicide unit so detectives can gather more information to assist with their investigation.

Time: 9:50 a.m.
Location: 2900 block of Lovell Drive
Victim (Deceased): Unidentified Hispanic male
On Friday, April 18, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a Check Welfare call in the 2900 block of Lovell Drive. The caller advised they saw what appeared to be a deceased person under the bridge in the grass. When officers arrived on the scene, they located a Hispanic male with apparent trauma to his body. The victim had two separate tattoos reading “Angel” and “Martinez”, but no driver's license or other physical ID. The victim is a Hispanic male who appears to be in his early 20’s. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene at 10 a.m.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation is still in the very early stages, but it appears the victim was shot by unknown suspects who remain at large. We are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the victim and suspects.
Investigators believe there may be witnesses to this incident, and are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area to come forward so detectives can further investigate.
