Youth Voices Rising | Registration Open

Youth Voices Rising is an 8-week leadership academy for youth (grades 6-8) to explore the history and culture of Asian Pacific American in the United States through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) education. Students will learn to use mathematics, data, and statistics to analyze historical events while connecting with their backgrounds. Materials and snacks provided. This is a free program that is open to all. Visit our Youth and Teen Programs pageto learn more and register. Please note, registration is on a first-come basis. Registration will close once we reach the maximum number of registrants.

Rooted & Rising | Saturday, September 6

Rooted & Rising, a collaboration with Asian Texans for Justice*, is happening Saturday, September 6 from 10:00am-2:00pm at the AARC! This full-day workshop is designed for rising 8th through 11th-grade students to explore how they can advocate for themselves, build stronger relationships, and make a meaningful impact in their community. Due to limited seats, registration is required. Register and find more details here!

Teen Mentorship Program | Applications Open September 1

Apply for the AARC’s Teen Mentorship Program (TMP)! As part of this cohort, mentors and mentees will have the opportunity to engage with like-minded peers, meet local Asian American professionals in our community, and learn about Asian Pacific American history and culture. To close out the program, the cohort will implement their skills and connections to plan and execute a capstone project to present at the family showcase. Applications will be open September 1 - September 30, 2025. Visit our Youth and Teen Programs page to learn more.


Spring and Fall Citizenship Clinics 

Please plan to attend an information session to learn more about the requirements to apply for U.S. citizenship. Attorneys from American Gateways will be present to answer questions about your eligibility. You will also receive a checklist with the documents and information you will need to prepare for the Citizenship Clinic on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Hyphenated Book Club • Year Round • 6:00PM - 7:30PM

The Hyphenated Book Club is back for 2025! Join fellow book lovers in the community to dive into works by Asian American authors. From new releases by emerging voices to beloved community favorites, fiction to non-fiction and everything in-between, explore the diversity of American literature from an Asian American lens.

All meet ups are free and open to the public to attend. Must be 18+. All sessions are hosted in person at the AARC. No need to have finished the book to attend, though recommended. See below for Hyphenated's reading list and meet up dates.

The AARC’s Community Art Exhibit Program displays artworks year-round that celebrate the diverse and dynamic cultural heritage, history, identity and creativity of Asian American Pacific Islanders. See what’s currently on view at the AARC Exhibits

Senior Program 

AARC Senior program is designed to address the intergenerational wellness and education needs of Austin residents, age 50 and up, with a focus on Asian American culture and community. To learn more about the current class schedule and how to register, go to AARC Senior Programming.  

Austin Community College - ESL Classes • Tuesday/Thursday • 6:00 - 8:30 PM

Austin Community College (ACC) offers free ESL courses to help non-native speakers learn basic English for college or the workplace, or simply to become more comfortable with everyday communication. Check ACC’s ESL Class Schedule to view a variety of days and times. 

Artist Access Program • Year Round 

The Artist Access Program (AAP) provides free or low-cost rehearsal and production spaces to both emerging and established performance artists living in the Austin area. Created to address the needs of local artists, participating organizations collaborate with the City of Austin’s Cultural Centers to produce professional performances for both local and visiting audiences.
