Intergenerational Cultural Connections| Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 1-3PM
In collaboration with Asian Family Support Services of Austin (AFSSA). Create meaningful connections through interactive activities and cultural sharing between different generations. Free event and everyone is welcome! Interpretation available in Arabic and Pashto. Light refreshments provided. Activities include Family Yoga, identity zine-making, cultural storytelling with buttons, crafting food recipes through playdough. Learn more and RSVP at Eventbrite.
Reflections: Patchworks of Community, Eco-Bundling and Natural Dye Workshop | Saturday, June 21, from 11AM-2PM
Come create with Artist Irene June Chau! Join the AARC and Irene June for crafts, food, and open conversations on diasporic reconciliation, healing, and cultural survival during our second open workshop for contributions to our ongoing art project, Reflections: Patchworks of Community. In this second workshop, Irene June Chau will lead a Natural dye and eco-bundling workshop to facilitate participants’ reflections on identity and community. Each participant will create a uniquely dyed and designed square that will be joined into the AARC’s community quilt exhibit, Reflections: Patchworks of Community. Free and open to the public. All ages. Light refreshments provided!

Ongoing Programs
Hyphenated Book Club • Year Round • 6:00PM - 7:30PM
The Hyphenated Book Club is back for 2025! Join fellow book lovers in the community to dive into works by Asian American authors. From new releases by emerging voices to beloved community favorites, fiction to non-fiction and everything in-between, explore the diversity of American literature from an Asian American lens.
All meet ups are free and open to the public to attend. Must be 18+. All sessions are hosted in person at the AARC. No need to have finished the book to attend, though recommended. See below for Hyphenated's reading list and meet up dates.

Exhibits
The AARC’s Community Art Exhibit Program displays artworks year-round that celebrate the diverse and dynamic cultural heritage, history, identity and creativity of Asian American Pacific Islanders. See what’s currently on view at the AARC Exhibits.
Senior Program
AARC Senior program is designed to address the intergenerational wellness and education needs of Austin residents, age 50 and up, with a focus on Asian American culture and community. To learn more about the current class schedule and how to register, go to AARC Senior Programming.
Austin Community College - ESL Classes • Tuesday/Thursday • 6 - 8:30 p.m.
Austin Community College (ACC) offers free ESL courses to help non-native speakers learn basic English for college or the workplace, or simply to become more comfortable with everyday communication. Check ACC’s ESL Class Schedule to view a variety of days and times.
Artist Access Program • Year Round
The Artist Access Program (AAP) provides free or low-cost rehearsal and production spaces to both emerging and established performance artists living in the Austin area. Created to address the needs of local artists, participating organizations collaborate with the City of Austin’s Cultural Centers to produce professional performances for both local and visiting audiences.
