The City of Austin wants to work with individuals and community groups to increase repair education across the city. Fix-It partners plan and host their own Fix-It Clinics. They also receive supporting materials and advertising assistance from the City of Austin.

Are you part of a reuse center, nonprofit, religious organization, school or PTA, neighborhood association, business or other group? Consider hosting a Fix-It Clinic. We'll help guide you and provide resources to plan your own event. Plus, Fix-It Clinics can help grow the reach of your business or nonprofit. Download our how-to guide in English or Spanish.

Become a Fix-It partner

Anyone who lives in the Austin area and wants to host their own Fix-It Clinic can partner with us. Nonprofits, religious groups, schools, PTAs, neighborhood associations and businesses would make great partners. Plus, partners get these benefits:

  • The ability to tap into our network: As a Fix-It partner, you'll have access to our network of volunteer coaches. While we hope you can recruit volunteers, staffing your event should be easy.

  • Aid with advertising: We will post partner events to our community Fix-It calendar.

  • Access the Fix-It tool sets: Borrow our tool set(s) to make running your event a cinch.

  • Premade files and forms: Fix-It partners receive a ZIP file of resources for their next event. This includes printer-ready files like waivers, table signs, flyers, data logs and sample email templates.

Get started

  1. Email us to become a partner and begin hosting your own Fix-It Clinics.
  2. We'll set up time for a quick meeting to go over the partnership.
  3. Once you sign our Fix-It Austin partner form, you'll be ready to go.

Partnership commitments

There are a few guidelines we ask Fix-It partners to follow:

  • Share your successes with us: We ask that partners  share data from their event on the number of attendees and the pounds kept out of the landfill through repair.

  • Help us improve the event: Partners will ask attendees to fill out an online exit survey about their experience at the clinic.

  • Follow our branding guidelines: We'll provide you a copy of the Fix-It Austin logo to use. Partners may not use the City seal or Austin Resource Recovery logo. We also ask that you refer to your event as a Fix-It Austin partner event. Partners should not represent their clinics as official City of Austin events.
