Saturday Youth Studio
Program Description
The Dougherty Arts Center’s Saturday Youth Studio helps provide young artists with experiences in various art mediums that they might not receive in conventional arts education. Each session will feature different projects so students can repeat classes month to month.
Saturday Youth Studio Classes are provided a la carte. Dougherty staff will transition students between registered classes which are contiguous. In this case, please send a snack and water bottle for transition time(s). If you enroll your child in non-adjacent classes, you will be responsible for the time between classes.

Ceramics
Get your hands dirty with clay! Students will be introduced to various hand-building techniques as they create unique three-dimensional projects. Pinching, coiling, and slab-building will all be explored. Older students may even get the opportunity to try their hands at the pottery wheel. Students will glaze their pieces, resulting in their very own works of ceramic art. Materials and firing included.
