Interpretive Park Rangers

What is an interpretive Park Ranger? Interpretive park rangers are educators who inspire park visitors to make deeper connections to the parks' natural, historical, and cultural resources. We do this through tabling, guided hikes, adventure programs, volunteer events, and impromptu visits, like the one you see here. 

Even through the corrective contacts we make, our goal is for folks to understand the "why." We don't want to develop rule followers. We want folks to make emotional connections to our park resources. We want to develop deep thinkers who appreciate and understand all the reasons our park resources are unique places. 

We hope this understanding provokes people to take action to take care of these inimitable spaces in our parks. See y'all on the trail!
