Background

In Summer 2024, the Great Springs Project partnered with the Trail Conservancy and Travis County Parks Foundation to seek funding for the Lower Colorado Watershed Restoration and Access Plan (WRAP). This proposal was awarded funding in Summer 2025 by the Bureau of Reclamation’s WaterSMART grant program.

Project Goals

The purpose of the Lower Colorado Watershed Restoration and Access Plan includes:

  • Bring together local and regional stakeholders to articulate a vision for projects and programs that support healthy ecosystems and create access to the river within the study area.

  • Recommend specific strategies, projects, and programs for achieving these outcomes.
