Project Summary

Austin Parks and Recreation partnered with Austin Parks Foundation to renovate the Montopolis Neighborhood Park playground. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 11, and the playground is now complete and open to the public!

Background

Austin Parks and Recreation partnered with Austin Parks Foundation to renovate the Montopolis Neighborhood Park playground. Engagement for the Montopolis Pool Project highlighted the need for improved drainage and updated amenities at the playground. Austin Parks Foundation led efforts for engagement and planning for the updated play area.

Project Description

Austin Parks Foundation led the playground project, aiming to include new play equipment, play surfacing, improved drainage, concrete walks, seating, shade, and nature play elements.

  • Winter 2023: Permitting
  • Fall 2024: Construction Began
  • Spring 2026: Construction Complete
