APD Response to APO Disciplinary Recommendation, Officer Daniel Jauregui

In response to Austin Police Oversight’s recommendation on case 2026‑01125, the Austin Police Department disagrees, stating that a comprehensive review of the incident found that Officer Daniel Jauregui did not violate APD General Order 301.2 or any other Department policy. APD explains that the officer’s comment, “Good find,” was directed to another officer after confirming a passenger’s felony warrant during a lawful stop. Although the complainant viewed the remark as insensitive, APD does not find the evidence supports a finding of discourtesy or partiality and did not rise to a policy violation.
