APO Discipline Objection 2026-01125, Officer Daniel Jauregui

In response to Police Chief Lisa Davis, Austin Police Oversight (APO) disagrees with the level of discipline issued to Officer Jauregui. APO objects to the classification of "information" without a finding of sustained. Officer Jauregui and his chain of command agreed to participate in mediation, an option available only for complaints investigated as a Class B under APD General Order 902.6.5, Investigations Handled Through Mediation. Officer Jauregui’s demeanor toward the driver did not reflect the standard expected of officers when interacting with community members. APO recommends that the complaint be classified as a Class B, that the allegation be Sustained, and that Officer Jauregui receive an Oral Reprimand.
