APO Policy Recommendation: Personnel Evaluations

This memorandum provides feedback on the Austin Police Department's General Orders regarding officer personnel evaluations. APO recommends improving APD’s officer evaluation process by ensuring that an officer’s evaluation records accompany the officer whenever they transfer to a new unit. This will allow supervisors to more effectively monitor performance throughout an officer’s career and uphold accountability.
