Grow Green Volunteer Workshop (Free Plants!)

At this combined Grow Green presentation and volunteer workday, you’ll learn how to Grow Green by keeping rainwater on your lot so your plants can enjoy it, instead of watching it run off to the nearest storm drain. You’ll discover how choosing the right plant for the right place makes your yard tougher, happier, and more resilient. And you’ll see why avoiding landscape chemicals isn’t just good for your garden - it protects our creeks, critters, and community, tying into Austin Watershed Protection’s work to keep our waterways clean & safe. 

After the presentation, you’ll head into the Green Garden for a hands‑on workshop where we’ll teach you practical skills in planting, mulching, selecting native and adapted plants, and establishing healthy watering practices. As a thank‑you for volunteering, each participant will receive a free native plant to take home!
