We’ll work to minimize impacts and keep you informed throughout the project. Please be patient while we work to reduce the risk of flooding in your neighborhood. Here are some details on what to expect during construction:

• Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with occasional weekend work. There will be dust and noise during construction. There will be workers and/or material storage in easements.
• Traffic will be one way at the neighborhood entrance while the new bridge is being installed.
• We will need to turn off water when we connect the new water line. Affected properties will get a notice 48 hours in advance. Water may be shut off briefly with little notice when we test the valves.

Things to Remember

This is an active construction site, for the safety of everyone in the area:

• Slow down around workers, obey all signage, and do not park in "No Parking" zones. If you’re on foot or on your bike, follow the sidewalk detours.
• Stay out of all fenced-off areas and keep child and pets away from construction sites and equipment.
• Leave extra time for travel.

Water, Garbage, and Utilities

Set your garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings out as usual.

There will be times during this project when we will need to briefly shut off water service to complete some of the water and wastewater line work for this project. These interruptions may last up to 24 hours and are expected to affect only a small number of homes at a time as construction moves through the neighborhood. Trash collection is unchanged.

We will leave a notice on the front door of affected homes 48 hours in advance with two exceptions:

• We may briefly turn off water without notice to test valves and equipment ahead of a planned outage.

• There is always the possibility of a temporary loss of water or other service if a pipe or line is broken. We’ll respond immediately to these emergencies and restore service if this happens. We have done extensive research ahead of time to pinpoint where all the underground utilities are. This should avoid unplanned outages.

If your residence is to be affected, please consider storing water in a pitcher or bathtub in order to have water supplies on hand during the shutoff. When services are restored, please flush your lines by running a cold-water bathtub spigot and an outside faucet for 10-15 minutes before using other faucets.

Heritage Tree Trimming

We are consulting with an arborist on the proper pruning of the live oak heritage tree to the right of the creek crossing as you enter the neighborhood.  We plan to trim less than 25% of the tree’s canopy.

Home Access

Driveway access will be maintained. During active excavation, there may be a 15-minute delay while crews secure the area for safe access.
