Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) Public Comment Period Now Open
The Austin-Travis County Wildfire Coalition is seeking community input on the update of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Public feedback will be accepted now through July 6, 2026.
The purpose of the CWPP is to identify areas of wildfire risk, prioritize mitigation efforts and provide recommendations that help reduce wildfire impacts across Travis County. Community input plays an important role in ensuring the plan reflects local concerns, experiences and priorities.
Now through July 6, community members can review this information and provide feedback online at https://arcg.is/15jLDP4.
Residents, property owners, businesses, and other stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the planning process. Feedback received during the public comment period will help guide future wildfire mitigation strategies and community preparedness efforts.
The Community Wildfire Protection Plan is updated on a 10-year cycle and serves as a roadmap for reducing wildfire risk throughout Travis County. The plan identifies areas of concern, recommends hazardous fuels reduction projects, supports homeowner risk reduction practices, and provides guidance for policymakers on wildfire response capabilities and evacuation planning.
