To help our community be better prepared for common area hazards like wildfires, flooding, and heat, Austin Emergency Management (AEM) will host its next Emergency Preparedness Pop-Up at the Twin Oaks Branch Library on Wednesday, July 15 from 3-6 p.m.

Event: Monthly Community Emergency Preparedness Pop-Up
Time: July 15, 2026, 3-6 p.m.
Location: Twin Oaks Branch Library

Representatives from AEM along with other City departments and partners in emergency response will be on site to provide tips, information, and supplies. The first 25 guests will receive an emergency supply kit, with a limit of one per household.

General preparedness tips will be available, with an emphasis on summer hazards. Summer in Central Texas brings severe heat, weather, and flash flooding. AEM attempts to schedule the monthly Emergency Preparedness Pop-Ups to coincide with seasonal threats to specific areas of Austin.

This pop-up event is part of a monthly series hosted by AEM in each City Council District throughout the year on the third Wednesday of each month.

The Emergency Preparedness Pop-Ups are a valuable resource for Austin communities to learn about readiness. Central Texas faces a spectrum of hazards, including flooding, wildfires, extreme heat, and winter storms, underscoring the significance of knowing the appropriate actions to take before, during, and after the next disaster.
