WIC provides healthy foods, personalized nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals to other services to support you and your family. Services are free to those who are eligible. WIC's Nutrition Education is for the Whole Family
WIC provides Nutrition Education to help you achieve your health goals! Taking care of yourself sets a powerful example for your children. The positive choices you make help your whole family thrive. Remember, even small changes can make a meaningful difference - be your best and enjoy the life you're building.
WIC offers a variety of options to fit your schedule & make completing your nutrition education easier.
- Snack & Story Time: Come join us in person for Snack & Story Time! It's a great way for families to spend time together, hear an exciting story and try a tasty snack. Let a WIC staff member know you would like to be scheduled for the class.
- Online Classes: Tons of helpful topics to keep the whole family healthy are right at your fingertips. Explore feeding tips, activity videos, breastfeeding info, and so much more. Go to the CLASSES section on TexasWIC.org and pick a topic that interests you. You can choose from Live-scheduled class OR you can go at your own pace anytime with Click & Learn lessons. After completing the class, you can take your certificate to your WIC clinic to reload your family's benefits.
- Cooking Demos: Join a local WIC Nutritionist in the virtual kitchen for tasty recipes & helpful tips! Click the link below for our previous cooking demos OR join a Live session on the Austin Public Health YouTube page. Take the quick survey at the end to get your class code to give to the WIC staff. - Breastfeeding Information Session: WIC experts discuss a variety of breastfeeding topics and answer your feeding question! - Paper Lessons: Technology free! Grab one at your WIC clinic - WIC staff will give you a paper lesson to complete, while they reload your family's food benefits.
- Talk to a Nutritionist: Speak to your WIC Nutritionist to get personalized help reaching a goal or current concerns. Call 512.972.4942 to schedule a one-on-one visit with a degreed nutritionist.
