Overview

The Ivanhoe Trail Pipeline Renewal Project is part of Renewing Austin, a program dedicated to strengthening our community’s water infrastructure as we prepare for the needs of the future.

Through this project, Austin Water will replace approximately 4,800 linear feet of aging 6-inch diameter water mains. New pipes that are 8 inches in diameter will be installed on several streets south of West Slaughter Lane: Ivanhoe and Jubilee Trails, Foxton and Larson Coves, and Wadsworth Way.

The project contractor will install the new lines using a technique called “open cut trenching,” cutting through the pavement to dig trenches for the new lines. The trenches will be temporarily repaired during the project. When construction is finished, the contractor will repave all streets impacted by this work.

Timeline

The project team anticipates that construction will begin in May 2025 and take about 21 months to complete.
