Casa de la Cultura: Manos a La Obra

Come explore your creativity, develop artistic skills, and connect with the rich cultural traditions of the community. Through open studio sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, you will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of visual, traditional, and contemporary art forms. 

This season, Manos a la obra invites you to explore the vibrant traditions of Día de Muertos through hands-on art activities and workshops. You will learn about the cultural significance of the holiday while creating traditional artwork, including sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar) and papier-mâché decorations and figures. The program offers a creative space to celebrate remembrance, heritage, and community through art.

The program provides opportunities for artists and community members of all ages and experience levels to create, learn, and share. You may work independently, collaborate with others, or learn from guest teaching artists who share their knowledge, techniques, and personal artistic practices. Manos a la Obra celebrates creativity as a tool for cultural preservation, self-expression, learning, and community connection. By creating an inclusive and supportive environment, the program encourages participants to explore their artistic interests, honor cultural heritage, discover new perspectives, and build meaningful connections through the arts.
