Bring your next film festival, dance recital, or live concert to our stage spaces, or use our other creative spaces (Artist studio, dance studio, or music studio) as rehearsal rooms for your auditions, production meetings, workshops and rehearsals. We also offer community gathering spaces for lectures, trainings, book clubs, or other programming.

- Complete the ESB-MACC Rental Application (PDF) document, save to your device, and email it as an attachment to ESBMACC Rentals at maccrentals@austintexas.gov.

- Applications will be considered in the order they are received.
- A completed application *does not* guarantee a reservation.

Spaces to Rent at the MACC
The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) offers a variety of rental spaces.
All rentals must serve the cultural, educational, artistic, or civic purpose of the ESB-MACC.

Reservation Details
Auditorium
The Auditorium is the ESB-MACC's largest space, stadium-style with telescopic seating that can accommodate presentations, concerts, and film screenings. The seating retracts to form an open floorplan suitable for galas and general-admission style performances.
2500 Square Feet | $114 per hour (4 Hour Minimum)
Includes built-in A/V system with 9’x12’ screen, projector, surround sound speakers, wireless microphone system, and professional stage lighting. The Dressing Room is included with the rental.
Capacity: 210 standing room only, no seating.
142 stadium-style seats + 4 ADA accessible wheelchair spots.
66-80 with table & chairs depending on configuration.

Space Details
Zocalo
The Zócalo is a beautiful, gated plaza that can accommodate outdoor activities and festivals. The plaza includes a mixture of paved and grassy areas with natural shade provided by our trees. We have a shade structure (30’ x 30’ x 15’) that adorns the center of the Zócalo that provides relief for sunny days and performers seeking shade.
21,600 Square Feet | $114 per hour (4-hour Minimum)
The Zócalo is next to the Hike & Bike Trail and is in close proximity to Ladybird Lake, with two gates that take guests directly to the Hike and Bike trail. There is dedicated food truck space for up to 3 trucks with electricity.
Capacity: 3,500
If any other spaces are needed, rental fees apply.

Space Details
Black Box Theater
An intimate theater space that can be used for smaller-scale presentations, concerts and film screenings. It includes removable risers, screen, projector, surround sound speakers, wireless mic system, stage lighting, dressing room and bathroom.
1500 Square Feet | $50 per hour (4 Hour Minimum)
Capacity: 50 Chairs / 32 with Tables

Space Details
North Lawn
The North Lawn is a versatile, grassy space located at the MACC's "Paseo" entrance, bounded by the facility's concrete walls and the Benito Huerta “Snake Path” art installation.
Characterized by an open layout and regularly spaced perimeter trees, the lawn’s proximity to the Red River Street parking lot makes it an accessible venue for diverse outdoor events or overflow parking.
2300 Square Feet | $81.25 per hour (4 Hour Minimum)

Dance Studio
The Dance Studio is a versatile space that can be used for performances, classes, dance rehearsals, and receptions.
It is a medium-sized room that includes a dance floor, mirrored walls, ballet bars, flat screen LED TV, DVD player, mounted speakers, & lighting.
1000 Square Feet | $70 per hour (4 Hour Minimum)

Space Details
Multipurpose Rooms (A & B)
The Multipurpose Room provides an adaptable environment featuring carpeted flooring and integrated audiovisual infrastructure to support workshops, rehearsals, and seminars.
1400 Square Feet | $94 per hour
It includes a projector, screen, and two 65-inch wall-mounted monitors; perfect for presentations. On either end of the room there are storage cabinets with counter tops that can host your supplies, prepackaged foods, with waste & recycling bins included.
The space can be divided into two halves using a built-in partition. Side A has the projector and wall mounted monitor while Side B only has the wall-mounted monitor.
Capacity: 80 chairs, 64 with tables
Note: MACC staff will configure the tables & chairs to the renters’ needs. Renters are not permitted to move tables & chairs without MACC staff assistance.
Space Details
La Cocina Teaching Kitchen
The "La Cocina” is a professional-grade culinary space designed for workshops. With approval, “La Cocina” can be used for small scale catering or food preparation for events held within the facility.
690 Square Feet | $95 per hour
“La Cocina” provides the infrastructure necessary for a seamless cooking demonstration, course, or for small buffet-style catering. The space includes a convection range, expansive prep surfaces, a built-in video camera, and a high-capacity refrigerator & freezer, the suite provides the infrastructure necessary for a seamless cooking demonstration, course, or for a small buffet.
Please note that while the kitchen is optimized for final staging and heating, renters must provide their own smallware, specialized utensils, and cleaning supplies to ensure compliance with facility health and safety standards.
A certificate of insurance and Austin Public Health temporary food event permit is required.

Music Lab and Rehearsal Spaces
The Music Lab is an acoustically treated environment engineered for audio production, rehearsal, and digital composition, featuring professional grade recording interfaces and MIDI capabilities.
387 Square Feet | $30 per hour
The suite serves as a focused creative hub, providing the specialized hardware and isolation necessary for high-fidelity tracking and collaborative sound design. Music Rehearsal A & B spaces are included in your rental of the Music Lab.

Music Rehearsal Room A: Music Rehearsal A is complimentary when renting the Music Lab. The space provides minimal soundproofing on the walls for rehearsal use.

Music Rehearsal Room B: Music Rehearsal B is complimentary when renting the Music Lab. The space provides minimal soundproofing on the walls for rehearsal use. It is directly connected to the Music Lab. Music Rehearsal B is suitable for small-medium ensembles/groups seeking a rehearsal space.

Small Classroom A
The Classroom provides a functional, light-filled setting optimized for educational programming, committee meetings, and small-group instructional sessions. It has one 65” TV monitor mounted to the wall.
Outfitted with mobile furnishings and integrated dry-erase surfaces, the space facilitates collaborative learning and can be easily reconfigured to meet specific pedagogical or organizational requirements.
364 Square Feet | $25 per hour
Capacity: 12 Seats per Classroom
Small Classroom B
The Classroom provides a functional, light-filled setting optimized for educational programming, committee meetings, and small-group instructional sessions. It has one 65” TV monitor mounted to the wall.

Space Details
Raul Salinas Meeting Room
The Raul Salinas Room is eligible to be free of charge for approved community use purposes during regular business hours. It is designed to meet general non-commercial, informational, educational, cultural, and civic needs ideal for discussion groups, meetings, workshops, and classes. Otherwise, rental fees apply.
800 Square Feet | $30 per hour
The room includes a sink, whiteboard, a portable monitor with HDMI connection, as well as tables & chairs. The renter is responsible for converting the room to it’s original configuration before exit.
Capacity: 35 Chairs / 20 With Tables
The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) is available for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor rentals including community events, non-profit events, business events, meetings, lectures, classes, banquets, and more. Due to ESB-MACC programs and community events at a high demand, spaces may not be rented for ongoing recurring or repeat events during a calendar year. Priority is given to events that support the ESB-MACC mission. Events that do not support the ESB-MACC mission will be given consideration 7 months prior to the rental date if the desired space is available.
The ESB-MACC does not rent space for life, family or personal events such as weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras, family reunions and social gatherings, with the exception of our Zocalo plaza. This allows for more space availability for community organized events. Zocalo renters must rent portable toilets.
City practices do not allow for external agencies to hold news/press/media conferences at City facilities.
• Please note that rental activities may not interfere with the normal public operation of the facility and are subject to the policies and guidelines listed below, as well as those outlined in the ESB-MACC Reservation Agreement. Site may stay open during rental events.
The facility is available for event rentals between the hours of 10am-10pm Monday through Saturday, with the exception of City of Austin Holidays when the facility will be closed. Rental periods include all setup and clean-up time and cleanup may not extend past 12am midnight.
All fees are assessed in accordance with the current City of Austin Parks and Recreation Fee Schedule. Fees will be calculated based on the hourly rental fee and applicable staff and utility fees. In addition to the rental fees, a deposit (converts to damage and cleanup deposit) may be required at the time of the reservation.
The ESB-MACC has one community room (Raul Salinas) which is offered free of charge, on a first-come, first-serve basis. The community room has specific guidelines for use of the room. This room is a public space and cannot be reserved more than 90 days in advance or scheduled for sequential events. The community room is only available free of charge during regular business hours. A charge will be assessed outside of business hours.
Facility reservations are first-come, first-served and may be made up to 7 months in advance. Potential renters should complete the Rental Application to begin the process. Once your event has been approved, the reservation agreement must be signed and any applicable reservation deposits paid.
Viewing of the ESB-MACC is available by appointment. Please contact the Facility Rentals Coordinator to setup an appointment.
Free parking is limited at the ESB-MACC. Metered parking is available for renters and their guests. Guests can pay for parking using the app Park ATX.
Parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Parking is $2 per hour from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. is a flat rate of $5. For paid time that continues after 6 p.m., the $5 flat rate is added to existing payment and parking expires at 3 a.m.
